Yolanda, an active member of Wellspring Chinguacousy, draws her strength and inspiration from the cherished memories of her heroes: Alice, Raymond, Nancy, and Greg. Though they have all passed away, their legacies live on within her, guiding her through life’s challenges.
“Alice, my mom, was a beautiful lady who instilled generosity and resilience in her children” Yolanda recalls fondly. Alice passed away almost 50 years ago from pancreatic cancer, but her nurturing spirit continues to provide Yolanda with comfort and strength.
“My brother Raymond was the best big brother you could ask for. He taught me to laugh,” she says, a smile touching her lips at the memory of his infectious humor and joy.
Nancy, Yolanda’s sister-in-law, instilled in her the values of loyalty and tenacity. “Nancy’s unwavering determination and steadfast support have left a lasting impression on me,” Yolanda shares.
And then there was her nephew Greg, full of optimism and gentle humor. “Greg taught me the importance of making things right and making peace because life is too short,” Yolanda says, holding onto his words as a guiding principle.
Each of these remarkable individuals has left an indelible mark on Yolanda’s heart, shaping her into the resilient and compassionate person she is today. Their legacies continue to inspire her, reminding her of the strength and love that can be found in cherished memories and the enduring bonds of family.
