Edmonton House

Opened in 2017, Edmonton House is a 12,000-square-foot cancer support centre designed to be a place of comfort, connection, and support. Spread across two floors, its bright windows and open spaces create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all who walk through its doors.

Located just minutes from the University of Alberta and the Cross Cancer Institute, and easily accessible via public transit, the centre features a fitness gym to support movement and well-being, comfortable meeting and support rooms in various sizes, and a custom-designed demonstration kitchen for nutrition and cooking programs. A cozy café and lounge area provide space for relaxation, while a multifunctional activity room, a well-stocked library, and dedicated spaces for arts, music, and energy work offer a range of opportunities for connection and community. Edmonton House also includes a unique children’s room designed for young visitors, as well as a covered ramp and elevator for accessibility.

Designed by Brinsmead Kennedy Architecture as a central hub for community-based cancer support, the construction of Edmonton House was made possible through the generosity of Stantec, Qualico, Landmark Homes, and many other Edmonton businesses and construction groups. Their contributions—including planning, project management, materials, and labor—brought this vision to life.
